This is officially my first personal blog. I have been involved in three other ones including one hosted by an ex-girlfriend, my family and one that I tried to create but it ultimately failed. This blog will be different then all the group ones I have been in because it is just me writing for myself. I can already feel that this is going to be a good device for introspection and venting.
As anyone who has any contact with me in this summer of 2008, I have been in the throes of a dilemma. It is a quarterlife crisis. I am the cross roads between college graduation and the future. It is an exhilarating, exciting and breath taking place to be with all the freedoms and lack of constraints of the adult life. However, at the very same time it is almost crushingly overwhelming for me. It is almost funny to think about just how much it is taking over my life. I need to stand up, move forward and struggle with it with a smile.

This does not look like a good start for my blog because I was disrupted from my initial writing for several hours and in the meantime watched 'Little Miss Sunshine,' perhaps my favorite movie of all time. That movie is just so hilarious. The relationships between the family members is amazing. Steve Carrell plays a very convincing suicidal man, however, the little daughter, Olive, steals the show. The end of the movie is just so fuckin touching. When Dwayne (Olive's brother) says, "Do what you love and fuck the rest," it really connected with how I am feelings right now. However, when Olive gets up to do her dance despite it being so different from the rest of the contestants it is awesome. She starts her freestyling dance/ strip routine and the whole crowd is against her. Then her family backs her up and gets on stage as well. It is probably one of the most triumphant moments in film that I can think of. A must see.
Anyways, it is movies like that that remind you that life is worth living and it is stupid to sweat the small stuff. Life can be and is sweet.
